HUNTINGTON, IN—The
Huntington University men’s basketball team will participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers
awareness weekend on Saturday, January 30 at the University’s Merillat Physical
Education and Recreation Complex when they host the Lancers of Grace College at
3:00 p.m. Coach Ty Platt and his staff will wear sneakers instead of dress
shoes with their usual game attire to demonstrate their support for the
American Cancer Society’s fight to save lives from cancer. To show support of Coach Platt’s effort
in the fight against cancer, fans are encouraged to wear sneakers to the game
too.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer
Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers
basketball coaches, their teams, and communities to join the fight against
cancer. Since the program's inception in 1993, high school and college basketball
coaches across the United States have joined the team to support the Society's
efforts to save lives and create a world with more birthdays. To learn more, visit coachesvscancer.org
