Wednesday night was Senior Night for the boys and girls swimming teams. In front of a standing room only crowd, thank you to all, the boys (6-5-1) defeated Marion 97 to 77 behind the first place efforts of the 200 Medley Relay team of Dan Scher, Skyler Ruschhaupt, Chris Royer, and Shaun Marion. Also Ruschhaupt won the 200 Free, 100 back, and 400 Free Relay. Scher won the 100 Fly, 100 Breast, and 400 Free Relay. Marion won the 200 IM and 400 Free Relay. Royer won the 50 Free and 100 Free and Casey Dubuc won the Diving. Great Job.
The girls team (9-5) also bested the Giants with a 112 to 68 victory. Andrea Okuly won the 200 Free, 100 Back, and 400 Free Relay. Mariah Patrick won the 200 IM and 200 Free Relay. Linda Schmidt won the 50 Free and 400 Free Relay. Amanda Kaiser won the Diving, Sara Karst won the 100 Free and 200 Free Relay as well as the 400 Free Relay. Cassie Hacker won the 500 Free and 100 Breast. Madie Wright and Emily Koons also won the 200 Free Relay. Taylor Feller was also on the winning 400 Free Relay team. Coach Christiansen did a great job of mixing up the athletes in some events they don’t normally swim in as well. Congratulations Seniors.
A new school record was placed by Jessica Baker in the ALL-AROUND with a 37.00 mark. She broke her old 36.7 record. She led the team (2-1) to a 102.5 – 93.5 win of the Tigers of Warsaw. In 2nd place was freshman, Stephanie Freeman, with a 33.1 All-Around score. Olivia Eckert was 3rd.
