Feast or Famine...about last week
Wednesday the Komets' home win string of six games was snapped by a 2-1 loss to the visiting Dayton Gems . Dayton has won two of three visits so far at the Memorial Coliseum this season.
Then, Friday the Komets put their A-game together for the annual Comcast Report Card Night and blitzed the Port Huron Icehawks 9-1 in front of a sell-out Fort Wayne crowd of 10,480. It was Komet goalie Tim Haun's career high 16th win of the season and it was the first time Komet fans were treated to nine or more goals since the home opener of last season when the Komets blasted the Flint Generals 11-1 Oct. 18.
Saturday the Komets traveled to Quad City and were stopped 3-1 by the Mallards. The Komets completed week 17 out-scoring their opponents 11-5 but ended up with a 1-2-0-0 record for the week.
The Komets enter week 18 of 2009-10 in third place with a 26-15-0-2 record trailing first-place Muskegon by 13 points.
