The Varsity Eagles and Varsity Lady Eagles are competing at the National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships in Springfield, Missouri during the week of March 15-20. They each will play 5 games this week in 18U Division I, the top 32 Varsity Home School Basketball teams of the country.
The Varsity Eagles and Varsity Lady Eagles had All-Region and All-American athletes selected by the vote of coaches in their Region. Awards were presented Monday night 3/15/10 at a late ceremony at Baptist Bible College in Springfield.

Jed Landis and Rebecca Daniels played 6 minutes in an All-American exhibition on Wednesday evening 3/17/10 at the Hammons Student Center of Missouri State University. Jed had 2 dunks, Rebecca had 2 baskets and 2 boards.
Catherine Weaver, defending her National Three Point Shooting Title, which she won last year on her 14th birthday, won the playoff again this year on the day before her 15th birthday. In the semi finals, she and Tanis Spani, from the Kansas City Metro Mavericks, both were awarded 14 points. In the final playoff, Spani scored 10 and Catherine 12.

H.C.Y.A. is one of the oldest Homeschool Sports program in the Country, and draws from the metropolitan Houston area. The Lady Warriors are the 2nd ranked team in the country, and routinely play Public Schools in the Houston area.

Huntington had high hopes to finish well at Nationals this year. Leading for most of the game, Huntington had a 12 point lead with 4 minutes left, and gave it up to send the game into overtime. With a one point lead in overtime, Huntington allowed Memphis to take the winning shot without fouling, then hustled down the court and missed their buzzer shot.

Huntington played a relaxed game against a Chicago team that came to play and shot well, when they had the chance. With the score tied and 2:33 to go, the Eagles tried to wait for a good shot, but 2 missed Free Throws by Matt Weaver at 1:38 gave the Crusaders the same opportunity. A crucial steal by Caleb Featherston at 1:31 gave the Eagles hope, but a turnover at 1:20 put the Crusaders back in charge. Matt Weaver intercepted a pass at 36 seconds and the Eagles took a time out at 33. As he clocked ticked down, Caleb started his drive at 6 seconds, a bounce pass to Samuel Daniels cutting across the base line at 2 seconds allowed a perfect floater to beat the buzzer.
