10.26.10 - The HU women's soccer team suffered its third MCC loss of the season at the hands of Marian University last night 1-0. With this loss, the Foresters head into the 2010 Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed.
"This was a tough loss for us. I feel like things didn't go our way but it's no excuse for the loss. We had our chances but just didn't execute them," commented Coach Burgher. "When you play a top notch team like Marian you have to take advantage of every opportunity or you'll find yourself on the losing side. We still take a lot of positives out of this loss. Last season we were tried to stay with Marian, this year we competed with Marian. Our team and program is making strides."
"We met all of our big goals for the regular season. We are over .500 and are hosting a tournament game. I'm very proud of the girls for what they accomplished this season. We all know that we aren't done yet and we are staying focused on our postseason goals. We are excited and anxious to get back on the field Saturday."
Caitlin Adams went the distance in goal to finish with eight saves. The Foresters are 9-8-1, 4-3-1 in MCC play. As the fourth seed, HU will host the first round of the MCC Conference Tournament on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.. They will play the winner of today's Taylor/Grace match-up.
