Huntington's annual Plant Swap will be held Saturday, June 6, on downtown Jefferson Street between Washington and Market streets.
Registration is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and the Swap begins at 10 a.m. and continues until noon. Entries for the Container Contest must be registered by 9 a.m.
Swappers may bring up to 20 plants for the round-robin style swap. Plant categories are as follows:

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Several Parkview Health facilities and physicians were recently recognized with 2009 Professional Research Consultants (PRC) Excellence in Healthcare Awards. The awards are based on patients’ perception of care and were presented at the PRC Client Education Conference in New Orleans.

HUNTINGTON, IN—Huntington University’s EXCEL Adult Degree Programs will offer a Saturday course on Intermediate Microsoft Access.
The class will be held on June 6 and June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the university’s Science Hall and may be taken as a visitor or for college credit. The course is one credit hour.
If the course is taken for credit, the cost is $310, and that includes books. For visitors, the cost is $175 plus books.

HUNTINGTON, IN—Cheri Daniels, Indiana’s First Lady, will be the featured speaker at the Northwest Elementary School’s KidFit post-test event. Daniels will arrive by helicopter on the campus of Huntington University at 10 a.m. on May 20.
KidFit is a pilot program for the Huntington County Community School Corporation. The 2008-2009 school year was the inaugural year for the program, which began in August. Northwest offered KidFit on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

HUNTINGTON, IN—Today, Huntington University honored 235 graduates from the class of 2009. The university’s 111th commencement was held in the Field House of the Merillat Complex for Physical Education and Recreation.
Huntington University awarded seven Masters of Arts degrees, six Master of Education degrees, 62 Bachelor of Arts degrees, 198 Bachelor of Science degrees, seven Bachelor of Social Work degrees, 21 Associate of Science degrees and three Honorary Doctorates. HUNTINGTON, IN—On May 28, the Huntington University Center for Leadership will sponsor a leadership luncheon open to business and community leaders.
The luncheon will feature Travis Holdman. Holdman is a licensed attorney, Indiana senator and bank consultant. He brings a variety of views from his experience as a former bank CEO, his time spent serving as deputy prosecutor as well as county director for human services. Holdman also has done mission work overseas.
His presentation is titled “The Leader’s Edge.”
This event was originally scheduled for April but was rescheduled because the Indiana Senate was still in session.

HUNTINGTON, IN—Five new students will enroll at Huntington University in the fall of 2009 as part of the Horizon Leadership Program.
The Horizon Leadership Program is a partnership between Huntington University and Youth for Christ with the goal of creating a more ethnically and culturally diverse campus.
