Junior Achievement will hos a Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser at Rainbow Lanes in Huntington on Sunday, April 18 from 1 to 7 p.m.
The financial illiteracy of today's kids is staggering. Junior Achievement (JA) is a non-profit organization which teaches children from grades K through 12 the fundamentals of personal finance, business, economics and free enterprise. In the Junior Achievement programs, over 2,000 children in Huntington learn the difference between a "want" and a "need". They learn how to apply for jobs and practice interviewing. They prepare personal and family budgets. They learn how and why they should save money and avoid accumulating credit card debt so they can appreciate the value of a dollar. Wouldn't it be great if more kids could learn these things and much more? Junior Achievement helps children make better financial decisions as they become adults.
The donations from the bowl-a-thon ensure the materials and resources are available so that more of Huntington’s children have the opportunity to complete the Junior Achievement programs and make better financial decisions for themselves and the community in the future.
Build your team of friends and family today to have fun while supporting a great cause. A team consists of 5 bowlers. The captain is responsible for getting 4 other bowlers, setting up their team on the designated website and motivating the team to raise money. The goal for each team is to raise $300.
