Michelle M. (Arquette) Eckert, age 38, of Huntington, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday (February 7, 2010) at her home.
Michelle was born on May 25, 1971 in Huntington to Roger and Shelley Arquette. She graduated in 1989 from Huntington North High School. Michelle then received her L.P.N. from Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne.
Michelle worked as an L.P.N. nurse at Heritage Pointe in Warren for 14 years and most recently at Norwood Nursing Center in Huntington. She was a member of The Awakening Community Church in Huntington.

Mary Louise Rich, 83 of Huntington, passed away Saturday February 6, 2010 at 10:35 pm at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a 1944 graduate of Lancaster High school, and worked as a voice coil supervisor at Utah-Pyle Industries for 31 years from 1958-1989. She was a member of Mt. Etna United Methodist Church, and enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles.
Mary Louise was born July 20, 1926 in Huntington County, the daughter of Raymond and Lilly (Burnworth) Landrum. She was a graduate of the 1944 class of Lancaster High School. On May 10, 1944 she married her beloved husband of 65 years Harold P. Rich in Huntington County and he survives in Huntington. Also surviving are a son Don (Connie) Rich of Huntington, 2 daughters Judy Malchin of Wheaton, Illinois, Carol (Terry) Schoeff of Huntington, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law Dorothy Landrum of Warren and Beulah Landrum of Wabash. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers Dean Landrum, Paul Landrum, Wayne Landrum, and Myron Landrum and a sister Betty Warnock.

Phillip C. Freiburger, age 87, of Yoder, Indiana, died at10:08 a.m. Saturday (February 6, 2010) at Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton, Indiana.
Phillip was born August 25, 1922 in Yoder to Ambrose and Veronica (Harber) Freiburger. He joined the United States Army and served in World War II. Phillip married Evelyn Ludwig on May 31, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntington. Evelyn (Ludwig) Freiburger preceded him in death on May 1, 2007.
Phillip was a lifetime Lafayette Township farmer in Allen County. He also worked for General Electric as a wire enameler for over 44 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke and the Roanoke American Legion Post #160.

Clayton L. Shepperd, age 71, of Huntington, died at 6:22 p.m. on Wednesday (February 3, 2010) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Clayton was born on December 8, 1938 in Arcadia,Nebraska the son of Clayton B. and Virgie (Forrester) Shepperd. He graduated from Comstock High School, Comstock, Nebraska in 1955. On April 8, 1962, Clayton married Linda L. Teusch in Huntington and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2002.
Clayton retired from maintenance at Friction Material Corporation after 41 years. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and U.A.W. Local #430 both of Huntington. Clayton loved to fish.

Barbara Nadine Soper Aufdenkampe, age 83, of Huntington, died at 7:17 a.m. Monday (February 1, 2010) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Nadine was born on February 7, 1926 in Huntington, the daughter of Carl & Erma (Hart) Martin. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1944. On December 8, 1945, Nadine married Horace Soper and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1967. She then married Robert Aufdenkampe in September 29, 1990 and he died in September 29, 1995.

Max Wayne Phillips, age 69, of Huntington, died Sunday (January 31, 2010) at his home residence.
Max was born on August 9, 1940 in Franklin, the son of Thomas A. and Hazel A. (Baker) Phillips. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from November 5, 1959 to February 8, 1962. Max married Nancy A. Colbert on September 16, 1962 in Huntington.

Frances E. Wasmuth, 87 of Huntington passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Oak Brook Village Nursing Center. She was a 1940 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a member of the Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church. She was a homemaker and also worked outside the home at Kitchen Maid, Schacht Rubber Company, Triad-Utrad and Cloverleaf Dairy.
She was born on March 13, 1922 in Huntington County, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Stettler) Pollock.

Wilda Gay Cox, age 85, of Huntington, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday (January 31, 2010) at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Wilda was born on August 29, 1924, in Berwind, West Virginia, the daughter of George Pearly and Bessie Mae (West) Rane. She graduated from Big Creek High School, War, West Virginia in 1942. Wilda married Bill A. Cox on February 3, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1987. The family became residents of Huntington in June of 1961.

Mary Ellen Schenkel, age 84, formerly of Huntington, passed away Wednesday (January 27, 2010) 10:40 p.m. at Peabody Retirement Home in North Manchester, Indiana.
Mary Ellen was born July 4, 1925 in Lagro, Indiana to Raymond H. and Mamie A. (Sharp) Schmalzried. She graduated from Lagro High School in 1943 and went on to attend Ball State Teachers College in Muncie, Indiana. Mary Ellen married Richard L. Schenkel on August 4, 1946 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington. Richard preceded her in death on February 19, 2009 after 62 years of marriage.

Crystal Pearl Carl, age 97, of Huntington, died at 5:12 a.m. Thursday (January 28, 2009) at Parkview Huntington Hospital in Huntington.
Crystal was born on December 16, 1912 in Liberty Center,Wells County, Indiana to John and Chollotta Jane (Grover) Marshall. She graduated in 1933 from Liberty Center High School in Wells County.
Crystal was a farmer in Liberty Center Township. She retired from E-Systems in 1978 as an inspector after 11 years of service. She was a Past Matron of Eastern Star #269 in Warren.
