Clayton L. Shepperd, age 71, of Huntington, died at 6:22 p.m. on Wednesday (February 3, 2010) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Clayton was born on December 8, 1938 in Arcadia,Nebraska the son of Clayton B. and Virgie (Forrester) Shepperd. He graduated from Comstock High School, Comstock, Nebraska in 1955. On April 8, 1962, Clayton married Linda L. Teusch in Huntington and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2002.
Clayton retired from maintenance at Friction Material Corporation after 41 years. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and U.A.W. Local #430 both of Huntington. Clayton loved to fish.
Survivors include four sons – Michael Shepperd of Huntington, Chris (Wanda) Shepperd of Huntington, David Shepperd of Albion, and Digger (Tammy) Shepperd of Huntington; a daughter – Sundaye (Alvin) Hook of Butler; one brother – Larry Shepperd of Aurora, Colorado; three sisters – Shirley Barrows of Ralston, Nebraska, Karen Glathar of Windsor, Missouri and Beverly Kiesow of Long Beach, California; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son – Benji Shepperd, and a grandson – Joey Shepperd.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday (February 6, 2010) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday (February 6, 2010) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
