Thomas E. Elick, age 63, of Huntington, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday (March 9, 2010) at his home.
Thomas was born on July 13, 1946 in Huntington to Eugene and Vivian (Good) Elick. He graduated from Huntington North High School and went on to join the United States Army. Thomas married Jackie Snow on December 19, 2008 and she survives.
Thomas was a retired engineer for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, Erie Railroad and Conrail after 32 years of service. He was a former First Vice with the American Legion Post #85, a member of the Am Vets of Fort Wayne Post #0055, and a member of the Moose Lodge #837.
Survivors include his wife – Jackie Elick of Huntington; one son – Brian (Jean) Elick of Fort Wayne, one daughter – Terri (Jon) Beam of Columbia City; two stepsons - Ernie (Tammy) Stephan of Huntington, and Roger (Kelly) Yeiter of Roanoke; two stepdaughters – Rita (Jeff) Brown of Huntington, and Amy (Matt Straley) Rakoczy of Roanoke; one sister – Sharon Elick of Huntington; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His parents precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Sunday (March 14, 2010) at Bailey – Love Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday (March 15, 2010) also at Bailey – Love Mortuary with Pastor Troy Mower officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, Indiana.
