David Willkie, Political Director for Senator Dick Lugar's re-election campaign, responds to criticism from TEA Party candidate Richard Mourdock and Democrats (odd pairing) regarding Senator Lugar's ownership of only one home along with the vicious personal attacks levied against Indiana's senior senator.  Willkie also clarifies comments taken out of context by Lugar's political enemies regarding leaving Indiana to serve in the US Senate.  Hear it for yourself.

Richard Mourdock: Gone was the guilt. Now came denial.

Guilt and denial are so much part of the human emotional dilemma, and have made for great literature about the flaws on those attempting to lead others. The esteemed Catholic theologian Gerry Wills’ “Nixon Agonistes” is one of the great discourses on the subject.

Which leads us to erstwhile Republican United States Senate candidate Richard Mourdock, the current elected Indiana Treasurer. For the past year, Mourdock has been crisscrossing Indiana trying to find a way as an outsider to unseat veteran United States Senator Dick Lugar in the May 8 Republican primary election.

A 60-year old native of Wauseon, Ohio, Mourdock has argued that Lugar, a fifth generation Hoosier farmer, is “too old” and “out of touch.” Mourdock graduated from Defiance College in Ohio, and then received a master’s degree from Ball State University in Muncie. He became a geologist for coal companies in southwest Indiana, and began running for public office.

INDIANAPOLIS - On Thursday, the Obama for America campaign opened up a campaign office in Indiana, a state with a century-old love affair with the internal combustion engine. It is a state that any Republican will tell you is certain to return to the "red" Electoral College column next autumn.

There is credence to that line of thought, with a Public Opinion Strategies Poll in December showing President Obama's approval in Indiana stood at 42 percent, and disapproval at 55 percent; wicked numbers for any incumbent.

So why is the Obama campaign be investing assets in a state they have no chance of winning?

Why does the TEA Party hate President Ronald Reagan?

We just passed what would have been President Ronald Reagan's 101st birthday and that got me thinking, why does the TEA Party hate Ronald Reagan so much?  Think about it, if Ronald Reagan was running President today, he would have the likes of TEA Party people Gregg Fettig (RINO Hunter) and Monica Boyer (I'm important but can't even get my husband elected) leading the charge against him.

Can you see Fettig and Boyer dressed up in their militia costumes with their fringe minions behind them calling out President Ronald Reagan  on:

• Bailing out the auto industry
• Raising taxes to help cut the deficit
• Compromising with Democrats
• Immunity of illegals
• Nominating extreme left-wing judges like Sandra Day O'Conner
• Talking to our enemies
• Supporting Senators like Dick Lugar

Why Condi Rice backs Lugar

Editor's note:  Here is a very good article from the Indystar.com regarding Dr. Condoleezza Rice's vist to Indianapolis on Saturday to endorse Senator Richard Lugar.  I was at the overflow event and was not only impressed by Dr. Rice and Senator Lugar but the enthusiastic support for Indiana's senior senator.  Here are a few quotes from the article:

But if more politicians -- on both sides -- were thoughtful and independent thinkers like Lugar, Congress wouldn't be frozen in partisan gridlock today.

It's halftime in Indiana, and Mourdock didn't want to start the game!

By now, most of you have seen what is turning out to be the Super Bowl commercial of the year.  You know, the one from Chrysler titled "It's Halftime in America" narrated by Clint Eastwood.  It takes you through the resurgence of the auto industry and yes, Chrysler in Detroit, but could easily be referring to General Motors and yes, Indiana as well.  Well my friends, it's halftime in Indiana and Richard Mourdock didn't even want to start the game!

While Senator Richard Lugar was fighting for the funds to help Chrysler in it's hour of need (as Ronald Reagan did in the 80's) and save up to 10,000 Hoosier jobs (and more if you throw GM into the mix) State Treasurer and TEA Party candidate Richard Mourdock was suing to stop the agreement between Chrysler and the US Government, thus killing the auto industry in Indiana (and beyond) and the thousands of jobs that keep our economy running.  And for what?  To hide the fact as State Treasurer, Mourdock invested millions of state pension dollars in junk bonds costing pension investors millions of dollars.  Oh, and to placate favor with the fringe extreme of his party.

And while Ford didn't take any TARP money, Senator Lugar was instramental in helping Ford Motor Corp. save over $3 billion (International Tax Treaty) in a long running tax dispute that helped Ford stay solvent and avoid any TARP money.

It's time for everyone to pee in a cup!

Great job by the Daily Show showing the absurdity of asking people to pee in a cup base on just the fact they are poor and the type of government money they receive...ENJOY, I did!

Huntington North sex scandal or vicious rumor?

There seems to be either a vicious rumor or a virgining sex scandal developing at Huntington North High School.  Now, I'm not going to disclose names or positions (pun intended) but it does involve 2 to 3 school officials and I have confirmed is being investigated by the school corporation's admistration.

We'll follow this scandal/rumor as it's investigated and let you know if anything else pops up.  I'm sure you can jump on Facebook and also get the low down, because every other student and their brother are talking about it.  This site will let you know when it comes to a conclusion.

Sen. Dick Lugar Reserve Officers Association's 2012 Minute Man of the Year

WASHINGTON- The Reserve Officers Association will honor Senator Richard “Dick” Lugar with its Minute Man of the Year Award for his contributions to national security and special efforts on behalf of America’s National Guard and Reserve members. ROA will present Senator Lugar the award at the association’s annual National Security Symposium here on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

Senator Lugar is a leader in reducing the threat of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. In 1991, he forged a bipartisan partnership with then-Senate Armed Services Chairman, Sam Nunn (D-Ga.), to destroy weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet Union. To date, the Nunn- Lugar program has deactivated more than 7,601 nuclear warheads, any of which could have devastated an American city, work for which Senator Lugar received a Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 2000. He continues his efforts to reduce the threat of weapons of mass destruction. Most recently Senator Lugar led a Department of Defense team to Africa to expand Nunn-Lugar efforts to counter the threat of bioterrorism.
