I finally received my public documents request from the Town of Andrews, kind of. If youremember, my request was approved on January 31, 2009 and after nearly 5 weeks of stonewalling, I filed an official complaint with the Indiana Public Access Councilor. Well Saturday, I finally received some of the documents.
I was charged 50 cents a page for the documents for a total charge of $19.00. Now, the last time I checked, that would be 38 pages. The package I received from Town of Andrews Clerk-Treasurer Bill Johnson only contained 19 pages. Most of the credit card statements read page 1 of 2 and no page 2. Now again, I wasn't the best math student, but if my calculations are correct I am owed either 19 pages of statements or $9.50. To top it all off, my document request was accompanied by a letter stating Bill Johnson, Ray Tackett and Karl Shockame didn't have town issued credit cards and if I wanted Kathy Juillerat's, I would have to pay 50 cents a page for a total of $5.50.
After reviewing the statements I did receive, I did not find any use of a town issued credit card at any casino, but there were some very interesting purchases.

i would hope that anyone requesting these kinds of public records would do so with verfied information rather than an email by someone anonymous.

Hey flyingeyeball, it looks like you are missing the point here. If you look at these statements, it doesn't bother you that this elected official is spending yours and others hard earned money in a time like this for personal uses that you yourself and others can't afford right now, like going to hotels and shopping sprees to Dick's Sporting Goods, Wal-mart, and Best Buy. Come on lets wake up and get rid of these corrupt people no matter what party they are from.

Gary you should push for a ISP investgation into the andrews town credit card use, who knows we might get some resignations from,(Ray Tackett & BillJohnson)and even the current county auditor.
who knows the republican party might even appoint you to the auditors possition.
That would be great for all of your supporters, I would support that also, stranger things have happened
