This week our United States Congress is passing government run health care, completely disregarding our Constitution and the majority of the citizens of this country. This happened with the “bailouts” and also with the “stimulus giveaway”. They are ignoring thousands of letters, rallies, and phone calls, and instead just shoving down our throats whatever they desire. The irony is that all this is being done with OUR money, and that they are all planning on getting re-elected with OUR money. There is a dirty little secret called the iron triangle that many do not know about. It is a slew of favors, bribes, and kickbacks that are being paid for with OUR money. This is how it works: A lobbyist convinces a congressman to pass this or that pork, regulation, or legislation that would benefit the group they represent. This pork (paid for by tax-payer money) is usually hidden in larger bills. Then the “special interest group” that receives that money, takes a portion of it and donates through a PAC to the congressman's campaign fund to insure his re-election. The congressman then has plenty of money (OURS) at his disposal to beat any incumbent, while also living high on the hog. Many are seeing it happening with the vote purchases of Senators Landrieu and Nelson with regards to the health care bill. At last check Senator Bayh had about 12 million in his PAC fund!! That is how these congressmen keep getting re-elected in spite of incredibly low approval ratings. Try running as a new candidate against a fund which will never run dry!
There are 2 ways we the people can break this cycle. #1 – Do NOT let them BUY your vote. Do NOT fall for their last minute mudslinging television ads and radio commercials by the incumbents that have been paid for by YOUR money. #2 – Elect new candidates who will do whatever it takes to change the system of the iron triangle. There are fantastic candidates who want to defend the Constitution and fight for our freedoms. They are business men, teachers, and everyday people who see what is happening and have risen up against it through the TEA Party movement.
If you are interested in defending your freedom from a congress that is even now moving to control your very health, come to the next Huntington TEA party on Friday, January 15 from 7-9 p.m. at Life Church. We have great speakers lined up, U.S. and State candidates to meet, and information on how you can make a difference in the 2010 elections. Put it on your calendar, time is short, and as John Adams said “liberty once lost, is lost forever”.

Mrs. Gamrat,
Health Care has not passed yet! When it does, it is not run by the Government. Get your facts together TEA party! Why shall we vote for radical former Republicans, who did not get there way or get elected? The TEA Party movement is just a fad. BTW TEA Baggers I got a question for you guys: You want some crumpets with that whine and tea?

Mr. /Mrs. Anti-TEA Bagger,
Since you seem a little bit angry and confused about the TEA Party, I thought I'd try to clarify things a bit. As you can see by reading my letter, I mentioned that health care was "passing" this week, not has passed. I am guessing that the title must have been given to my letter by Gary. I also did not recommend voting for "radical former republicans", but instead "everyday regular people" who want to change the corruption of the iron triangle. You see, the TEA party is not about republican or democrat, but about freedom. Our founding fathers recognized that debt precedes slavery, this is found in many scripture verses as well.
Thomas Jefferson said it well - "To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt...We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude."
It doesn't matter whether it is a republican or a democrat recklessly spending and loading us with overwhelming debt - we become slaves regardless. It is just as wrong for one as it is for the other. We have come to a point in our history where our national debt will enslave future generations, our children and grandchildren. This has been brought upon us by republicans and democrats alike. I and many others do not want to see that happen. You may disagree if you want to, for we all have the freedom still to do so. However, regardless of what others feel, I will be continuing to defend our freedoms and the Constitution that protects them, and I will support the candidates who stand for those same values.
Merry Christmas and God Bless,
Cindy
