Since I was doing my talk show on FM 100.1 Talks Tuesday night and was unable to attend the Real Republican debate between F. Tom Wall and Jim Banks, HuntingtonPolitics.com sent some of our people to cover it for us. Yes, we have people. Kind of scary isn't it? Anyway, our people reported back and found F. Tom Walls' "Tomisms" were the hit of the debate. And before you read, I know some of you are going to wonder what the hell is wrong with that word or sentence? Just trust me, it's wrong! So here are the top Tomisms of Tuesday nights debate:

HuntingtonPolitics.com did contact Huntington County Clerk, Fran Felts, and her only response was "I will give a statement to the newspaper". She repeated the statement three times.
I no longer have confidence in the Clerk of Courts office in Huntington County. Can they be trusted with a close election when they have been caught cheating on a simple candidate deadline? Deadline, there's just something about that word. I like the word deadline. I like it's sound. It's like death and at some point it's all over. But, maybe not in the Huntington County Clerks office?
Download Time Stamp issue (if you are having trouble, use the zoom.)
Here is the candidate list that was posted on the Huntington County Clerk website late Friday, February 19th. Doesn't reflect a 108th candidate.

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana will join with other states in a legal challenge to the recently-passed federal health care law, Attorney General Greg Zoeller announced today.
Indiana is joining an action originally filed last week by 13 other states in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida. The complaint will be amended in light of the U.S. Senate on Thursday passing the House changes that accompanied the underlying health-restructuring bill the U.S. House passed March 21."There has been a great deal of public debate regarding this new federal program. While I personally share the grave concerns that have been expressed regarding this law, I believe it is in the best interests of all -- even those who have supported the new law -- to raise the constitutional questions to the United States Supreme Court," Zoeller said. "When the federal government imposes unprecedented legal obligations of this magnitude on state government, it is my obligation as Attorney General to join and participate in challenging the constitutionality of the bill."

BY TERRI BOONE, Huntington County Assessor
I thought it was necessary to respond to last week's report on my budget adjustments by the news media. I was unable to attend the Council meeting on March 22; I was in Indianapolis with my daughter Tara who has most likely suffered a college career ending injury to her right hand.
While in Indianapolis with Tara, my staff called and explained the Council had issues with my budget cuts. I was surprised to say the least. I submitted the budget cuts into the Auditor one week before the meeting and thought if she or anyone else had issues with the adjustments, they would contact my office before the meeting. Instead of communicating with me, the Auditor wrote a letter to the County Council stating and in her words "County Assessor's Cut isn't proper". It seems she made sure in my absence to politicize any issues with my budget cuts. I would not have known about the letter but a County Council person handed a copy of this letter to me three days after the Councils meeting.

Republican candidate for Sheriff, Tom Carney, today
announced he will name Sheriff Kent Farthing as his second-in-command
if elected Sheriff in November. Sheriff
Kent Farthing has served as Huntington County Sheriff for the past eight years
and has over 30 years experience with the Huntington County Sheriffs
Department.
“I have asked Sheriff Farthing to serve as my
second-in-command if I am elected Sheriff of Huntington County and he has
accepted. In difficult times like
this, Huntington County needs experience and leadership, not empty promises and
more politics as usual. That is
why Sheriff Kent Farthing is the perfect person to serve as my
second-in-command and I look forward to having him help me carry on the high
standards demanded of the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department,” said Tom
Carney of his appointment. “Sheriff
Farthing brings his eight years as Sheriff and over 30 years experience in the
Huntington County Sheriff’s Department with him and can step right in to the
job without any on-the-job training,” added Carney.
