(Indianapolis, IN) – Today State Senator Randy Head and State Representative Rich McClain announced their endorsement of Luke Messer for Congress in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District. Senator Randy Head represents Miami and Wabash counties, both within the 5th District, while Representative McClain serves Miami County.
“After serving with Luke Messer for four years in the Indiana General Assembly, I’ve seen Luke’s leadership ability first-hand,” said Representative McClain. “Luke was a key leader in our caucus and served with me on the House Ways and Means committee when we worked with the Governor to craft the state’s first balanced budget in nearly a decade without a tax increase.”
State Senator Randy Head said, “I have known Luke Messer since my days at Wabash College and for nearly half of my life. Luke is a thoughtful and dedicated public servant whose career has been marked with excellence. He will spend time listening to constituents and fighting for our communities as a leader in Congress.”
“Representative McClain and I have had the unique experience of working with several of the other candidates in this race,” Senator Head noted. “And, while we have great respect for those individuals, we believe Luke was a first-rate representative in the General Assembly and will be an excellent representative in Congress.”
Other legislative leaders endorsing Luke Messer include former District 42 State Senator Robert Jackman, District 53 State Representative Robert Cherry, and District 57 State Representative Sean Eberhart. Messer has been endorsed by over 600 key grassroots supporters and elected officials throughout the district.
