I want to start by reminding the "Bitter Clingers" out there; Hello, I'm still here. Not only am I still here, I'm still here with a radio show and record traffic to this site. But yet you keep pulling crazy sh*t like this. And keep this in mind as you read this post, I can't make this stuff up, I really can't!
According to my sources, here is what is going down at the courthouse, and keep in mind, the county is supposedly broke and the Huntington County Council and the Huntington County Commissioners forced budget cuts on all county offices earlier this year.
To start, F. Tom Wall and the County Commissioners want to eliminate the commissioner's secretary position currently held by Kim Heaston and move those responsibilities to the Huntington County Auditor's Office. In return, the Commissioners want to create a new human resources position for huntington County. This position would be filled by defeated Huntington County Auditor and Huntington County Republican PartyTreasurer Kathy Juillerat. I guess because she did such a fantastic job as Auditor?
President of the Huntington County Commissioners, F. Tom Wall, then approached the Huntington County Treasurer's Office and asked them to hire the former Huntington County Commissioner's secretary, Kim Heaston. They will have an opening due to Cindy Yeiter beating Huntington County Auditor Kathy Juillerat in the May Republican primary.
What makes this even better, or worse, depending on your point of view, is the other primary loser, Fran Felts seems to have created or attempting to create, a full time position for herself in the huntington County Clerk's office.
Stay tuned!

There are many people with HR degrees that have lost their jobs that would jump at the chance and be excellent candidates for such a position. Why Kathy Juillerat?

G,
I read in the Herald-Press Thursday, August 26th headline story that the "Community falls silent in budget deliberations" that lamented the lack of public comment during the HCCSC budget hearings.
The interesting story here is that no one from the Herald-Press even bothered to cover the budget hearing of the Huntington County Council!
I attended the third night of Councils budget hearing, and saw no one from the local newspaper there. I understand that there was no one from the Herald-Press there on Monday or Tuesday either.
If not for your efforts, this issue would reamin "our dirty little secret"!
Thanks for shedding some light where there has been woefully little!

Another side of this story is current Auditor cut $15,000 from her Deputy pay line item for 2011. So if the new HR position flies, then the new Auditor and current staff would be responsible as the Secretary to the Commissioner's with no extra money to provide this service.
When Don Schoeff was Auditor there were six deputies; now there are only four and no extra dollars for more work. Make sense? Not in my book!

Schoeff would need more Deputies he was part time his staff done all the work. The court house has operated just fine for over 100 years without a HR person, the last thing we need is a uneducated HR person. I'll bet the County would be better off if Juillerat and Felts leave the Court House on Dec. 31 2010 and not return Jan. 1 2011.
