I recently asked former super lobbyist and convicted felon Jack Abramhoff, "It has always been my contention that if you want to know why a politician is doing something (pushing a certain agenda) all you have do is check and see where his or her money is coming from, is that true? "Absolutely" Abramoff said.
Now Republican Senator Luke Kenley (Chairman of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee) wants to make sure Hoosiers pay more in taxes. Can I say that with Republicans like him, who needs Democrats? Even going as far as to testify in front of Congress to push for not only Hoosiers, but all Americans, to pay a new sales tax on on-line purchases.
Sen. Kenley suggests that the state of Indiana is losing out on $70 to $80 million because we don't have this sales tax in Indiana. With that logic, I guess we can say the state is losing out on millions of dollars in revenue because we don't have a 10% income tax in the state. Hell, we're losing out on billions in revenue because we don't have a 50% income tax. See the logic?
