One of the nice things about having a very popular radio show is the access you get to some of our state and national politicos. Whether it's having state or national elected officials as a guest on my radio show , being invited to high profile political events and attending the party's annual dinners usually happening at this time of the year. I've attended many Lincoln Day Dinners for the Republicans and even a few Jefferson-Jackson Day dinners for the Democrats. Hell, I've even been asked to speak at a few of these events. I have yet to run in to one of these dinners that didn't have a media table set up and one that wanted to charge the media to cover their event.
Then I ran into the Huntington County Republican Party. Now to be fair, I have not had the best relationship with the Huntington County Republican Party. Matter of fact, I have been responsible for running many of the current former elected officials out of office and some sit in the power positions of the party.
With that being said, when I responded to a Facebook post by the Huntington County Republican Party calling for people RSVP to their Lincoln Day Dinner on April 20th featuring Congressman Marlin Stutzman. Okay, I thought, I'll hit this up and listen to what the Congressman has to say. So I responded by asking if there would be a media table available and I may like to attend.
The Huntington County Republican response: We don't have a media table set up but if you would like to attend please RSVP by April 16th and you can pay by check when you arrive on the 20th.
Way to keep it classy Huntington County Republicans! But then again, does it really surprise anyone?

The Huntington County Republicans are nothing more than a Good Old Boys club that get together every so often to decide who to raise taxes on and how to waste their money.
We're getting taxed like we live in Massachusetts and services like we live in Alabama.
Where is the accountability for these people?
If we're going to be gouged, we should have brand new sidewalks, no potholes in the streets, state of the art infrastructure, and someone should decide once and for all what they are going to do about basic little day to day things like trash pick up.
I don't think anyone will miss our former mayor when reminded of the fact that he let three entire weeks worth of garbage accumulate out on the curb without a trash pick up day (the entire town looked like a dump on Easter Sunday).
If we're going to start accepting that we have an outdated sewage system, holes in the roads, crumbling sidewalks that force people who ride bicycles out into the street, and can't even get our trash picked up, they should at least cut our taxes to reflect the fact that we're living in a town that belongs in Mexico.
If we let the Republicans run this town for 10 more years, it will be dirt roads and peasants gambling on chicken fights in the street.

"Way to keep it classy", said the trash can to the garbage pail.
