Yes, the far right social zealots are going after another radio talk show host, and this time it's not me. How can we forget the attempt by Monica Boyer, Greg Fettig and the rest of their "God's Warriors" minions threatening to get me off the air. Since that didn't work out, now they are going after Gregg Henson, the new 3-6 guy on WOWO.
Greg replaced the far social right-wing favorite Pat Miller on the 3-6 slot on WOWO about a month or two ago (not sure, I'm on at the same time). I do listen to other talk radio programs when I'm preempted by the Cubs over the summer and could not stomach Pat Miller, although I think Gregg does a good job. Anyway, Monica wants Greg Henson off the air and writes this on Facebook:
Are you tired of the egotistical insulting talk show jock that WOWO replaced Pat Miller with? This shock jock was a guy who has been FIRED from MANY stations in the past who just happened to want his own show. They wanted more pop culture... i.e American Idol. He is insulting to women, his wife and conservatives. Don't bother sending complaints to WOWO, as HE is the boss. Go over his head and call his boss at Federated Media. Tell them you will not support the sponsors or wowo until they bring Pat back.

So how exactly are Monica and her minions less crazy than the far-left in this country on free speech issues (remember Rush limbaugh and Sandra Fluke). If you are not ideologically pure in their eyes, they try to get you off the air, threaten your advertisers and then launch personal attacks to try to justify their relevance. This can be seen below as Mother Monica posts an article about Gregg being fired in Huston. Never mind the article states it was for a format programming change, she attempts to smear. My guess is most people see this group for what they are (fill in the blank) and their effort will work about as well as it did in getting me off the air.
Actually, Gary, I have heard Gregg Hensen speak VERY condescendingly to Christians callers on several occasions and even heard him make fun of their beliefs on 2 specific occasions. These incidents happened when he was filling in for Pat Miller.
Pat Miller had his views and his target audience and often disagreed with callers but he NEVER treated ANYONE unprofessionally, let alone with blatant bigotry.
To call Hensen unprofessional would be an understatement. I cordially expressed my concerns about Mr. Hensen and WOWO's existing demographics to Federated Media, which is actually based in California (conspiracy?) and did not even receive a reply.
So, when Gregg Hensen continued his unprofessional behavior, I quit listening to WOWO for the first time in 30+ years. Mind you, this all occurred BEFORE Hensen took over the afternoon show.
...and now I listen to you...so keep it professional please. When one starts throwing labels around (like "far-right"), one is stereotyping...and that is the beginning of unprofessional behavior...
I do enjoy your show and we have spoken several times. I enjoy discussion and always listen to opposing viewpoints and will even debate them but it has to stay professional...so please...let's keep "1400 WBAT" above the level of Greg Hensen and the "new 1190".

This lady and what she represnts is crazy. She is just as dangerous as the far left in this county and Gary nailed it. To start a campaign to get Gary (yes this same group went after Gary) and Gregg off the air makes these people dangerous.

We still live in a free country, and she has a right to do what's she's doing, certainly more then that load of crap coming out of Gregg's mouth. If the tables were turned, he'd get fined or kicked out for his bigotted statements, but Christians seem to be fair game these days.

This same group went after me and my adevertisers and failed now they are going after Gregg. i don't know Gregg but got to believe he's doing something right if these people are going after him and his advertisers. Monica Boyer is a very smart lady. She is exactly right about Henson. We turn off WOWO at 3pm every night. We loved Pat Miller but would learn to like a new host if he was decent. Henson is not. I do not consider myself far-right. I do know what is informative and interesting and what is abusive and degrading. This is why we are leaving WOWo.

That's fine, if you don't like Gregg, turn him off (I'm also on 3-6 just saying) but trying to get him fired? Going after his advertisers? That's far left crap, just what the left did to Rush. This same group also did it to me (and failed) Plus going after him personally, posting infor on him being fired, which if you read the article, was do to a change in format, not some treasonous act like they would lead you to believe. Monica and her group are no better than the far left and i will catrogorize them as extreme right.

See a trend here? The new guy may not be the answer for the die-hard (on all day and night) WOWO listeners but ratings will determine the future there as well.
