As someone who was an inaugural member of Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 Presidential Exploratory Committee, I can, with a great deal of sincerity and experience, tell anyone that bad advice, campaign staff incompetence and a blindly loyal candidate can LOSE an election. For more than three months now, on Twitter, in blog posts and in my radio segments on The Gary Snyder Show, WOWO Newstalk 1190, Fort Wayne, IN, I have been railing that this could be the case with the Romney 2012 campaign.
In two major instances now, senior campaign “adviser” Eric Fehrnstrom has screwed the pooch for Romney in major national news media interviews. In the primary, Eric gave us the now notorious “etch-a-sketch” moment, and most recently — blew the gift of the Supreme Court decision on the Healthcare Act, contradicting every Republican leader in the country, agreeing with Obama that the mandate is not a tax — only to have Romney backtrack TWO DAYS later. Genius. You have to work really hard to achieve this level of incompetence or outright internal confusion. To add insult to injury, the campaign trots out what I believe to be one of the most inept press secretaries in modern times, Andrea Saul, to further con-volute Romney’s position, and further muffing the response. Please keep serving up those waffles. If you keep it up at this rate, Obama might not even have to run much of a campaign.
I'll be at the polls. Don't worry, when you lose this election you won't really be unemployed because you haven't done any actual work in decades.
Your income from your days of doing outsourcing at job-killing vulture capital will keep you afloat for a long time, unlike the people that continue to suffer due to Bush's legacy and the runaway bankster system which you are a part of.
