Hell, they're even shown here breaking ground in April of 2011
As I'm watching my Twitter feed this morning, the headline from Indiside Indiana Business comes across reading "Recycler Planning 180 Huntington County Jobs". Awesome I thought, until I read the press release.
A waste-to-energy company is planning a $350 million investment that could add workers in Huntington. Our partners at Indiana's NewsCenter report Fort Wayne-based Nature's Fuel intends to create 180 jobs and upgrade its recycling facility by early next year.
The project aims to grow its Huntington plant and turn landfill waste into biofuel and building materials.
At a news conference, Chief Operating Officer Glenn Johnson says the company is the first to ever land the types of permits they have.
Indiana's NewsCenter says construction will begin in a few weeks.
Nature's Fuel also has operations in Fort Wayne and Atwood, as well as Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan.
Wait a minute, is this the same Nature's Fuel that has been holding a presser every election cycle promising to bring jobs and a plant to Huntington since 2009? Is this the same Nature's Fuel the city and county have spent taxpayer money on to improve roads around the project, build a multi-million dollar driveway and signed a contract with how many Mayors ago? I guess fortunately for us, there are no election in 2013.
Anyway, here are a few old headlines I found dating back to 2009:
