I like Mike Pence. Congressman Pence has been a guest on my show, has been very generous with his commentary about my show and truly loves his country and state. Unfortunately, I just can't vote for him for Governor of Indiana. Why can't you vote for him you ask. Well, my friends, I have an answer for you and it's called Mike Pence's record.
I may be in a minority here, and trust me when I say it won't be the first time and will not be the last, but when I take a look at Mike's record and compare it with what he's saying (or not saying) on the campaign trail, it gives me reservations about his vision for Indiana.
My concerns rise with his record of putting party and ideology over what is best for Hoosiers. And I know Mike's supporters will argue that's not the case, and do it with a straight face, but I know better. In Mike's Indiana (based on record not campaign speeches) there would be no Chrysler, GM and all the associated businesses and tax dollars that go with having a thriving auto industry in the state. In Mike's Indiana, Pell Grants would be signifigantly reduced for poor and middle-classed students trying to pay for sky rocketing tuition costs. In Mike's Indiana, less government for the most public of parts of your life and more government for the most private.
Don't get me wrong, there are things I agree with Mike Pence on, like pro-life issues, but my concerns with his record outweigh any agreements I may have with him. Now, this is not an endorsement of one of his opponents but there are two viable atlernitives out ther to choose from and I will do so on election day.
