Indianapolis, Ind.--Today, Joe Donnelly’s campaign for U.S. Senate released its latest poll showing Donnelly leading Mourdock by two points with Libertarian Andrew Horning earning 8% of the vote.
“Voters continue to respond to Joe’s message of Hoosier common sense and are rejecting Richard Mourdock’s ‘my way or the highway’ approach to politics,” said Elizabeth Shappell, communications director. “While Mr. Mourdock preaches politics and calls for more ‘zealots’ in Washington, Joe will continue his effort to earn every vote from Hoosier Independents, Republicans, and Democrats.”
Highlights of the poll include:
- Donnelly leads on 3-way ballot. In the three-way contest, Donnelly leads Mourdock, 40-38 with 8 percent of voters supporting Libertarian Andrew Horning.
- Donnelly leads on 2-way ballot. In the two-way contest, Donnelly leads Mourdock 43-41.
- Donnelly leads among independent voters. Donnelly leads Mourdock among independents by 5-points in a 3-way contest and by 6-points in a 2-way contest.
- Donnelly viewed more favorably by independent voters. Joe is viewed favorably among independent voters, 43-27; while Mourdock is upside down, 29-41.
