Indiana Democratic Party chairman Dan Parker released the following statement on Richard Mourdock's shameful attempt to use retired teachers and police officers to justify his lawsuit to kill Chrysler:
Richard Mourdock didn’t sue to kill Chrysler because he wanted to protect Hoosiers. He sued to establish his reputation as a Tea Party star. The truth: Mourdock rejected Chrysler’s offer and went on to spend millions in taxpayer dollars that would have resulted in far less money for teachers and police officers. More important, Mourdock’s partisan crusade would have killed more than 100,000 Hoosier auto jobs and left our state in shambles. He bet against Indiana, and he lost.
